Januar 2008 Norway ratified the European Patent Convention on the 01.January 2008 and thus became a member state of the European Patent Organisation (EPO) . Norwegian companies may thus thus have an easier everyday life and relate to to new technology and through the same patent framework as the ir competitors in Europe. An increasing number of patents made effective in Norway should stimulate innovation both through access to n ovel technology and by increased competition.
